Massive Delay in online play
I play on PC. This year so far it seems like I am getting a good 1-2 second delay between inputting a command and players responding anytime I play online. Opponents do not seem to have the same prob...

@pawanwazza I don’t know could be tactics could be the way you play. Post the video if more have the same issue maybe ea can look at it. If you pass all the tests have no delay with the input overlay it’s something different. Some people have delay and connection issues. If your opponent doesn’t experience it then it’s not something everyone has or is experiencing it’s a lot harder for either you to fix it or ea if it is on their end.
Why is it hard for ea to fix it? I mean I have moved different places used different setups... Have noticed a lot of changes and differences over time.... Initially in fc24. My games used to very slow and I would concede 8 - 10 goals easily against a good player..and trust me the opponents connection would be very smooth and would have fast gameplay and I could never get more than 3-4 passes together going forward..after one of the maintenance my connection got better... Now I would not concede as many goals.... It would be an equal game yet I would still be slightly slower..all this was on 40-50ms ping....
now I m in a different city 20ms ping is what I get yet I feel the same disparity against some players... I can visibly see them make quick passes and runs which I can never...I can do them offline or on squad battles but never online.... I have been playing EA FC since fifa 08 i have never missed a year but I started UT very recently... So I understand the game mechanics quite well and I do understand when it's a matter of skill and when it's not... If this is how my connection is going to be where I am always slower than my opponent (WHICH IS REAL!!!!!) I can never compete top flight......
I appreciate you taking time and effort and replying to me but NO you are wrong... My opponent can be faster than me with a good connection to the server......... I can bet my life on this..... I have seen someone with 40ms get better gameplay than me on 20ms... So it's definitely not the issue of ping.... We can assume under 40/50ms it should be completely okay....now what else would be the issue? Packet loss? I have 0% or 0.01% at most.. jitter I don't remember again very minimal.... So my isp is actually doing just fine carrying data to and back from the server... Now where is this issue coming from? My router? People have standard isp given routers and it works fine... I have gigabit port router.... Where is the issue????
- @pawanwazza just try to play the game when you usually dont play it like late night or early morning as gone-north adviced you to do.
I dont think there is anything wrong with youre connection mate i think the servers you are connect to is overfilled and thats makes youre game delayed, can also be a combination between distance and to many people, ive got exactly the same problem when iam played the game in the past, just try diffrent times and see if you notice any diffrent, good luck ! Since the new game has released there are people online all the time and it has has been the same experience for me at all times.......I have tried everything....
@pawanwazzaThen maybe take the game back and get youre money back instead my friend, i know exactly what you going thru and it started 24 for me and thats why i dont buyed 25.
I just played a rivals game.. it's 3:30 pm here. The opponents ping was 30 and mine was 20.. my connection score is again "great" in the report. My players running slow and turning like trucks .. my opponent's gold endrick just goes thru my defence like it's nothing every single time.. conceded 10 goals..... This is so unfair...... What is the issue mannnn
- @pawanwazza its the same every year bro, so that why i stopped to buy Ea games, either Ea servers are to overfilled or you living to far from Ea servers, iam pretty sure theres nothing wrong with youre internet or at youre end at all, Ea been struggling for years with their Amazon servers and they are pretty ok to players that gaming short distance but for long distance they simple not working, and ofcourse they will try to blame you for this but just remember their servers are not good to begin with, they are 100 % overfilled with players that got the exact same problem as you.
I read a lot in other forums, reviews etc and it is a huge problem for Ea, the allready bad servers are overfilled and that makes the gameplay heavy and not much in the game is working.
There was exactly the same problem in 24 and 25 is just a copy and paste of 24 so thr problem remains, there is actually nothing you can do about it and there is actually nothing Ea really cares about either, the main focus is not at all players that got problems with this "game" the main focus is at them who live near their Ea servers and who they can trick to buy in game, its all about the profit man and thats the biggest reason so many people dont buy the game anymore, Ea is actually bleeding players to be honest.
My advice to you is to get a refound instead, if its not working its not working, spare youre time to somthing more fun instead, gaming should be fun, relaxing and have a good time, its just a videogame nothing more nothing less and there is alot of greate games that is actually working out there. - @xXEliteWPlayerXx Played it at my friend today, its exact the same game that 24, this game is not for me at all iam not going to buy it, iam waihing for Ufl instead
Hope 2k fifa makes it big and have smooth game plays online...... Honestly... Very tired of this... I came to a different location to test out a different internet.... This has low score but works much faster... Smh 😕😭🤣
- @pawanwazza If you do have delay that makes a big difference it’s likely your connection then. I misunderstood you when you original said it wasn’t much delay. Try the connection faq or contact your isp and see if they can fix it.
Isp says everything fine and the e quality report says my connection is great with 0 jitter 0 latency and ping less than 20ms all times.

- @pawanwazza If you are showing delay on your video show your isp they will need to fix it for you. The problem with the connection report is it’s not showing real time like the overlay. You must be getting inconsistent connection. That’s why the report isn’t as reliable. Ea explained this is a thread last year was pretty informative.
inconsistent connection is what defines jitter... And I have 0. I got a corporate connection
- @pawanwazza You are showing delay when you play so it’s your connection. If your connection was perfect you would show both controllers in sync. You just said they don’t and it’s showing massive delay so your isp needs to fix it. Take the in game overlay over the speed tests they are not as reliable.
I understand... I am not talking about speed test but the ea connection quality report given by EA themselves....

U know what I m trying to say is EA rates my isp connection to be "great" while "okay" and "good" connections work better.
EA is saying I have a great connection to the server like 20ms ping 0 jitter 0 packet loss... This is EA saying my connection to the server is great..... U get me?
Its really bad mate iam having the same problem
i go into ea fc 24 and the connection is fine
also my 2 controllers is showing a tremendous amount of lag....
i regret buying the pre order cant even play a normal game at any time of the day....
its my own fault i spend 100 quid on this but im not buying a single pack to be honest
- @pawanwazza Its explained throughout the whole post. You can see someone else saying there test is fine while in game they are showing delay.
The ea guy responded by saying the test is only a snapshot of what’s happening in game. If you are experiencing delay then it’s on you or your isp because so few have delay.
I am paraphrasing because it’s over the course of what 7 pages or whatever explaining it.

- Check your connection. Be sure you're using a stable connection through Ethernet Cable.
- Use our Connection Quality Report tool. (LINK) This page will check your connection's latency/stability and provide Troubleshooting steps to help you improve your response when playing online.
- Check if yellow or red icons appear at the top of the screen during the game. We give real-time feedback if you're having issues with your connection.
- Turn off the Reaction Time Modifier. If it is enabled, go to Game Settings, disable that feature, and try to play a new game.
If you still need help with input delay playing online, please turn on the Input Overlay (Local Input + Online Response) and share a clip video here.
That is a good point there is so many variables when it comes to connections. Hopefully this thread will fill up with video examples which will help explain to the community what’s going on and what can be done to help.
1. Yes I am using Ethernet cable
2. Quality report gives me 20ms ping, 0jitter, 0.01% packet loss
3. No the yellow red icons don't appear. What I am talking about is not that.. I am saying my UT games run slower than kick off games
4. Reaction modifier has always been off since day 1.
5. I have turned the local + online response overlay on. I see mili seconds of difference between the two.
But the problem is more than that. My players are slow. My game runs slow. I can't dribble more than 3-4 steps without trying to predict the opponents movement. Imagine!! U predict the opponents movement when u r defending but I have to do it when I attack because my opponents players seem fast and quick and agile... I have to show u by recording a kick off game and then a UT game with same exact players to show the difference in movements...checking overlay really doesn't give you the full picture.... I am very sure I am not the only one facing this..
I will try and record the videos and add a link here... Please try to understand it is not about overlay... It is about the whole game running slower...and it is very unfair when ur opponents are faster than you.

The link doesn't work for some reason. But check it out. Rounder_074 has also explained exactly what Issues I face here... I have this issue ever since I have been playing fc. Not just 25.
Another issue is for first few mins or until the ball goes out for the first from kick off everything is great! works perfect. But after that I become slower than the opponent.... Today for my surprise it didn't happen.. I was so excited... I had my opponent locked down. He could string 2 passes together cus I was defending well .. and after some time I was back to being slow .......how do you explain this.....
I tried all the methods that were in other forums already and they haven't fixed anything yet. my fps is fine but theres so much input delay that everything i do in any online mode is delayed by a whole second. They do this every year and theres so many complaints about it so im confused as to how they don't see this, from what i've heard it's even bad on the consoles. Please help me fix this issue im just trying to play the online modes without delay and I dont want to be forced to only play the singleplayer modes to have fun.
- @Aguapate Try posting the video. I know last year very few ended up having delay. I only saw about 5 or so post a video. Besides sa there was 800 or so and ea fixed the server.
I will try and post it tomorrow. For now I am resetting my PS5 and reinstalling fc25.
But how soon do they fix it for u? Can they do it before fc pro open ladder?
It's like a person uses the same internet as I am using and is in the same city but different location has an awesome gameplay but I don't have it......anyways that is why I m resetting my PS5...hope this works.... Is it something like if share play is on it cause hindrance with the network? And is PSN playing any role in the connection or is it just the EA verifies the credentials and that's it.... Let me know
