The red folder to the players
The red folder in the top left of the players. What does it mean and how do I get rid of it?

This means they have no contracts/matches left. On your screenshot, it looks like Figo is a loan with 0 matches left. You can't really get rid of it on Loans.
But you can remove this red folder on standard players by applying contracts.
