To everyone within this thread - yeah it seems like EA have forgotten about the biggest market user for their games (casual gamers like myself) so the game has become an even bigger sweat fest than ever. On Monday of last week I managed to qualify for WL with a 4-1 record which I was chuffed about then played WL last night ended up with a 7-8 record (I’ve always been someone who gets between 8-12 wins previously so I’m happy with that although the rewards were average!) & I’m so glad I checked online last night as I thought WL/Champs was playable until Wednesday 0800 as ever but it ended this morning 😮 So many times last night I came up against 89 rated teams full of promo cards or the best Rare Golds (Bellingham/Haaland/Mbappé/etc) so it was a challenge. They (EA) need to go back to previous requirements (4/10 to qualify for Champs & 20 matches to play from Fri to Wed) or they’ll quickly lose a lot of players. Not everyone wants to/can play on the weekend due to other things taking priority (social life/partner/work/kids) it was just sheer luck I looked & saw there were 10 hrs left!
As we're not really bothering with WL, at weekends, we're prioritising Rivals games (4 more wins needed before Thursday). We're not going to touch Squad Battles until Friday and Saturday, whereas we used to do them very early in the week; our thinking is that EA will give more easier 2,400+ point games the closer it gets to the Sunday deadline.
I'd be interested to hear how others prioritise Rivals, Squad Battles and WL.
Can't really answer yet. I know how I used to work these things but will need to see how this new set up plays out. WL was always the thing that interested me most; without it I'm not sure how it will go.
Just saw the long piece from Gordon Farquhar, EA Product Manager. He confirms WL will only be open to higher quality players.
Oh well, i wish I'd read it before I bought the game. My bad, I'll just take the hint and not make that mistake again. Probably time for a change at some point anyway. Any suggestions? 😊
- @redandwhite1874 Play more squad battles or rivals or friendlies. They added more tries for wl so you could always try to improve to join wl.
