Career Mode

Feature Request: Dynamic Reputation System for Career Mode

Overview

Career Mode is one of the best modes in EA SPORTS FC, but one major issue reduces realism: unrealistic transfers.

For example:

  • World-class players often join mid-table clubs without a realistic reason.
  • Small clubs can sign elite players simply because they have enough money.
  • AI clubs do not consider their reputation when making transfers.

I would like to propose a Dynamic Reputation System.

Club Reputation

Every club receives a reputation tier:

  • A+ = Global Elite (Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester City, Bayern Munich...)
  • A = Champions League clubs
  • B = Strong European clubs
  • C = Mid-level clubs
  • D = Lower-table clubs
  • E = Small clubs

Club reputation should change over time depending on:

  • League position
  • European performance
  • Domestic trophies
  • Financial growth

Player Reputation

Players also receive reputation tiers:

  • A+ = Football Legends / Global Superstars
  • A = World-Class Players
  • B = International Stars
  • C = Good Professional Players
  • D = Squad Players
  • E = Young or Lower-Level Players

Player reputation should evolve based on:

  • Individual performance
  • Goals, assists, clean sheets
  • Awards
  • Team success
  • Age and consistency

Transfer Rules

Transfers should respect reputation.

Examples:

  • A+ players should only join A+ clubs.
  • A players should only move to A or A+ clubs.
  • B players can join B, A, or A+ clubs.
  • C players can move to C or B clubs and occasionally A clubs after exceptional seasons.

Exceptional cases should still exist, but they should be rare and based on special circumstances such as:

  • Huge salary offers
  • Boyhood clubs
  • End of contract
  • Veteran players near retirement

Dynamic Career Progression

The system should not remain static.

Examples:

  • A B-rated player who wins the Ballon d'Or could become A.
  • A club winning the Champions League multiple times could move from A to A+.
  • A declining superstar could drop from A+ to A.

This would create a living football world where reputation changes naturally over time.

Benefits

  • More realistic transfers.
  • Smarter AI decisions.
  • Greater immersion.
  • Every save becomes unique.
  • Long-term careers become much more enjoyable.

Career Mode has incredible potential, and this feature could make it the most realistic football management experience EA SPORTS FC has ever offered.

Thank you for considering this idea.
