After playing FC 26 about 2 months late after release I was utterly shocked to see how this game plays. While 25 was nowhere near perfect it felt like football. CPU defenders did a far better job to actually pressure the player, tried to go after the ball and that opened up more organic chances with passes and most importantly they were imperfect misstiming tackles, conceding penalties, getting yellow cards, causing injuries and so on.
In FC 26 CPU defenders just 3 meters room, playing passing lanes and either getting stops by perfectly timed tackles or just completely missing them giving up easy dribbling towards their goal.
On offense the CPU build up feels robotic, very pass heavy and prone to mistakes. I cannot count how often they made questionable passes that lost them the ball nor can I can how often the AI was passing laterally and backwards to just hold the ball an ddo absolutely nothing dangerous with it. Other times they put you on skates and you feel like the goal they scored was inevitable.
Going back to FC 25. This game had it's own issues but on the pitch felt so much more rewarding to play and fun! I heared 26 was great when it released and got patched into the state of misery it's in, never experienced it myself BUT the way 26 plays it's hard for me to see any kind of tweak to make this year's game fun vs AI. It seems to poorly balanced and frankly pretty broken.
