Friend bug

I bought the game 2 days ago and as always have I have a disturbingly high ping, however that's not the biggest problem. When playing with/against a friend only one player can play consistently (most of the time it was my friend). My player changes directions a couple of times and suddenly just sprints in one direction. When he disconnected his controller I could play (move normally) but he obv couldn't.
