This is happening in Career Mode on PS5.

When editing players’ boots, the changes appear to save correctly in the menus. However, after leaving the edit screen or entering a match, several players automatically revert to generic black boots.

The issue is inconsistent. Some players keep the selected boots, while others reset every time, even when using the same boot model. This happens with real players as well as youth players and regens.

This is not a small visual detail. Career Mode relies heavily on immersion, and seeing players constantly lose their customization breaks the experience completely.

I have tried editing the boots multiple times with no success. Since many other users are reporting the same issue, this is clearly a game bug and not an isolated case.
