Slide tackle playstyle

The slide tackle playstyle plus does no difference in winning the ball. It does not improve a players tackling, because it only activates when winning the ball. I performed a slide tackle with someone who has 93 slide tackle and playstyle plus, it was an easy tackle yet he didn't win the ball even though he has both attribute and playstyle. I feel as though the playstyle plus never activates when to increase my chances of winning the ball, and it only activates after i have won the ball. And that makes the playstyle completely useless.
