Defending

I’m a division 9 player currently, I haven’t played this game in a while. I was winning 5-0 and ended up losing 8-7. I keep seeing players better than me on YouTube say defending is balanced, but I’m just so confused. I don’t know how to defend? They’d just left stick dribble in front of 2-3 of my defenders until they find an opening and shoot then score. How do you guys defend? I try to stay in front of the attacker with jockey to track movement but jockey feels so slow, my ai defenders don’t move unless I do, I’m so lost.

what do you mean defending is good? It feels horrible. Do AI defenders really need to be useless? I hold RB to get one of them to tackle the person holding a ball while I manually move my defenders to cover the pass, but he just left stick dribbles in circles until the timer runs out.
