FC 27 – Player Career Mode Improvement Suggestions (Rookie to Legend Experience)

Player Career Mode has stayed mostly the same since the mode was first introduced. While gameplay changes every year, the career experience itself still feels repetitive and lacks depth. For FC 27, Player Career Mode should become more immersive and realistic—not just about playing matches, but living the journey of a footballer.

1. Rookie to Legend Career Journey

Instead of allowing players to choose any club immediately, Career Mode should start realistically.

  • Begin at a small club or academy system.
  • Earn opportunities through performance.
  • Complete contracts instead of leaving after one season.
  • Scouts and bigger clubs should discover players naturally.
  • Poor performances should impact transfers, contracts, loans, and selection.
  • Players should sometimes move to smaller leagues to rebuild their careers and reputation.

The goal is to make progression feel earned.

2. Performance-Based Career Progression

Everything should depend on player performance and manager expectations.

Examples:

  • Good performances → Better contracts, starting positions, transfers, awards.
  • Poor performances → Bench time, loans, contract termination, reduced reputation.
  • Completing manager objectives should directly affect career growth.
  • Reputation should matter across clubs and national teams.

This would create a true football-world experience.

3. More Story and Immersion

Player Career Mode should feel alive.

Features to add:

  • Conversations with managers.
  • Interactions with teammates.
  • Press conferences and media responses.
  • Decisions that affect reputation and relationships.
  • Dynamic story moments throughout the career.

The experience should feel like living the life of a professional footballer.

4. Career Continuation After Retirement

After retirement, players should have options:

  • Become a manager and continue the save.
  • End the career and view achievements.
  • Export the retired player into Kick Off mode and other game modes.

This would make long-term careers more meaningful.

5. Camera Improvements – POV Mode

Add a first-person / POV camera option.

This would:

  • Increase realism.
  • Make matches feel more immersive.
  • Help players experience football from the player's perspective.

6. International Career Improvements

International football needs major updates.

  • International goals should count toward total career goals.
  • National team selection should depend entirely on club and international performance.
  • Good performances should increase selection chances.
  • International achievements should impact awards and reputation.

7. Add More Asian National Teams

Many players want to represent their own countries.

Suggestions:

  • Add more Asian national teams.
  • Expand international licenses.
  • Allow more regional representation in Player Career Mode.

Final Thoughts

Player Career Mode should become more than creating a player and playing matches.

It should feel meaningful—a complete football journey from rookie to legend, where every performance, decision, and achievement shapes the player’s career.

That would make FC 27 feel like a real football life simulator instead of repeating the same experience every year.

Career mode needs Saving so bad especially player career. It's so hard to get immersed when the opposition fans celebrate when I score makes no sense. A lot needs to change but EA probably won't do it
