Feedback on FC 26 AI Defence
I am writing to share critical feedback regarding the current gameplay balance in EA SPORTS FC 26, specifically concerning defensive AI tracking.Football is fundamentally a team sport.
Currently, the game suffers from a severe imbalance. We must recognize a core mechanical reality: we play this game with controllers, not our actual feet. When attackers can trigger hyper-responsive, instantaneous movements with a single flick of a joystick, the defending player is at a massive natural disadvantage if they rely purely on manual reaction time. The physical limitation of controller inputs makes manual tracking against explosive skill moves incredibly punishing.
Players should be rewarded for breaking down defense through team play, build-up passing, and tactical positioning, rather than relying on unrealistic skill-move speed bursts against clumsy AI. Rebalancing this will make the game far more authentic, competitive, and enjoyable.
What is frustrating is that the unnerfed version of the game at launch was actually very well-balanced. The defensive AI was competent, bridging this input gap and making matches feel like a tactical battle. However, after patches, the AI defense has been significantly weakened.Because of the input asymmetry between offense and defense, the defensive AI should be buffed back to its original state, not nerfed.
Only by making the defensive AI smarter can we encourage true team build-up and tactical passing to score, rather than arcade-like high scores (e.g., 6-4, 5-5). Please restore the balance and bring back the depth of the game. Thank you for your continuous effort to improve the game.
