RIVALS: I tried again after 5 months but nothing changed…
Good morning everyone, around mid-November I decided to abandon Division Rivals, which I had been playing continuously for eight years. Division Rivals is the main online mode in the Ultimate Team "ecosystem", and playing it also allowed me to participate in the Weekend League. I honestly don't know why the situation has worsened this year, but several hypotheses can be made, such as a worsening in matchmaking and the removal of checkpoints that prevented relegations. I consider myself a low-to-mid-level player and have always played in the divisions between D6 and D4. This year, I quickly realized I couldn't progress beyond D8, D9... But the main problem is that even in these lower divisions, I was too often matched against much stronger opponents, resulting in interminable losing streaks. And as you well know, losing too many matches leads to abandoning the mode, if not the game, out of frustration! In all these months, I haven't played Division Rivals at all, only Battles and a few sporadic online events. After all this time, I wanted to try Rivals to see if anything had changed. I started again in Division 8 because, even without playing, they hadn't demoted me further. I played the first four or five matches against much weaker users and won them fairly easily, but unfortunately, this "easy life" didn't last long because a devilish algorithm started matching me again with higher-level users with an endless losing streak, so my attempt, probably my last, was very short-lived. Apparently, the various reports made on the forum over the past few months have been of no avail, and the situation, as per my personal experience, hasn't changed. As a result, I've gone back to playing solo Battles and will likely finish the game this year.
It's not exactly what I expected from Ultimate Team mode, but there you have it!
