Suggestion / Feedback – Captaincy in Player Career Mode (FC25)

Hi EA Sports team,

I’m a long-time player of Player Career Mode, and I’d like to share a major frustration that many fans have had for several FIFA editions — and now EA FC as well.

Currently, only certain positions (like CM, CDM, or CB) are eligible to become team captain. However, this makes no realistic sense. In real football, we’ve seen world-class captains in all sorts of attacking roles, like:

• Lionel Messi (RW / CAM)

• Cristiano Ronaldo (ST)

• Mohamed Salah (RW)

• Eden Hazard, Neymar, Bale, and many others…

They’ve all been captains for their clubs or national teams while playing outside the midfield or defensive core.

So, why can’t a created player in Player Career Mode — who’s a star RW, has played over 5 seasons for the club, with a 90+ overall, leadership traits, and is a consistent starter — be selected as captain?

This breaks the immersion and realism of the mode.

Here are a few things I ask you to consider for future updates:

1. Remove the position restriction for becoming captain.

2. Make captaincy decisions based on seniority, leadership traits, overall rating, and club loyalty.

3. Add an option to request or earn the captain’s armband based on clear objectives.

4. Or, at the very least, give us the option to manually assign the captain in Player Career.

Many of us love Player Career Mode, but these kinds of limitations make it feel outdated and disconnected from modern football.
