Ultimate Edition ICON still advertised after Aug 26

To be honest the idea of a deadline is absolutely absurd, and players should be able to receive the bonuses advertised no matter the pay date, their shouldn’t be a deadline date at all, the only acceptable deadline being when early access comes out.

The exact same thing happened to me, i completely understand your pain, the worst part is the only other way to receive the bonus icon is through ea play pro, and that is another 20 bucks i’m my currency, AND is only available through pc, its false advertising its absurd, and Ea should not be treating players differently because of their respective gaming platform

Update: As of Sept 10, the ICON bonus has now been removed from the PS Store listing. This basically confirms that the store was misleading players after Aug 26, because I (and others) purchased while it was still advertised as included.If EA and PlayStation don’t honor this for people who bought during that time, it means players paid extra for Ultimate Edition based on false information at the official point of sale.Wanted to share for transparency: the ICON was advertised until Sept 9th, and only removed on Sept 10th.

I didn’t just randomly expect something that wasn’t offered, I spent the extra 30 bucks because the PlayStation Store on PC advertised that the Ultimate Edition includes the FC26 ICON and it still shows that even now. I’ve been a loyal player and I’m not asking for freebies, but if the official store page where I bought the game says “includes ICON” then that’s what I bought. It doesn’t make sense to say “oh but elsewhere (EA’s site) it said the deadline was Aug 26.” As a consumer what matters is what’s shown at the point of sale, so if it’s advertised on the official store then that’s binding. If EA and PlayStation don’t honor it that’s on them, not on the players who bought in good faith.

I’m pretty sure you will still get that Icon player mate. As it’s stated in the promotion. It’s like buying the ultimate edition game on the day of release after the early release date, you should get those players, packs and fc points. But you won’t get the icon player for esports fc 25 if you ordered that after August deadline. Otherwise request a refund

That link doesn’t address the problem. I’m not confused about EA’s Aug 26 cutoff — I know it.

The issue is this:

On Sept 2, when I bought the Ultimate Edition on the PlayStation Store (via PC browser for my PS5), the page was showing the ICON bonus.

On Sept 7 and even today, Sept 8, the PlayStation Store is still advertising the ICON bonus — I have screenshots with the live date/time proving it.

And to be clear: the PlayStation Store is an official sales channel, not a third-party reseller. I used the correct, official place to buy my game, where this content was still being promoted.

So this isn’t just a past mistake — the ICON bonus is still being actively advertised today on EA’s licensed retail partner’s storefront.

The real question is simple: Will EA honor the ICON bonus for players who bought through the official PlayStation Store while it was still being advertised, yes or no?

Anything else is just dodging the issue.
