Belgium's national team is missing from EA Sports FC 26 due to licensing issues. EA Sports doesn't currently hold the rights to include Belgium's official national team branding, kits, and players in the game. Unlike club teams, national teams can't be easily substituted with generic names or kits, which means if EA can't secure the license, the team is omitted entirely
Ok, so I understand licensing with football to an extent and know it is much more tricky than American sports. My question, is if EA has player licensing, I’ll use Messi as an example. They have Miami and its players, including Messi. I get they need to get licensing for Argentinas badge and kits but they would then also need a second player license for Messi? Or the way I understand it, can’t the kits and badge be generic with real players who are already licensed in game? Is there a 2-step process to get a players license for their club and their national team? If that’s the case, I can maybe see why we aren’t getting more national teams.
