PROBLEM: PLAYING WITH A FRIEND ON A DIFFERENT PLATFORM

I'm having trouble playing any friendly matches with a friend. I'm on PC, and he's on Xbox Series X. I've added him to EA Play and everything, but I can't invite him to my sessions, while he can invite me. We've already tried removing each other from our friends lists, all privacy settings are enabled, and we both have cross-play enabled. I tried asking the AI for help, but none of the solutions worked.
