FC 26 won't launch — black screen on startup
Hi,
EA SPORTS FC 26 will not launch on my PC. On startup the FC26.exe process
starts, EA AntiCheat loads, the game window opens BLACK and then freezes/closes —
it never gets past this black screen. I've done extensive troubleshooting and
I'm confident this is a corrupted FC 26 profile on my account's cloud storage,
not a problem with my machine. I'd like you to reset/clear the FC 26 cloud
save/profile on my account so the game can rebuild a fresh profile.
Evidence it is account/cloud-side, not my PC:
- EA SPORTS FC 25 (same PC, same EA account, via Steam) launches and runs
perfectly. So my GPU, drivers, DirectX, Windows and EA AntiCheat are all fine.
- I did a full Windows reinstall (format) and reinstalled FC 26 from scratch —
the black screen came back immediately, which means the bad data is being
re-synced from the cloud, not stored locally.
Already tried (please skip these):
- Reinstalled EA AntiCheat, disabled EA in-game overlay, verified/repaired files
- Clean GPU driver reinstall with DDU, tested older and newer drivers
- Tested with a single monitor, and at 60Hz
- Full Windows format + fresh FC 26 install
System: Windows 11 Pro, AMD Ryzen 7 5700X, 32 GB RAM,
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti (driver 32.0.16.1074), DirectX 12.
