People are grinding up to 40 matches per day in Heavyweight Royalty just to get absolutely nothing.
The early rewards are garbage for the amount of sweat required. Then you expect players to win 4 in a row - twice. That quickly turns into 60, 80, even 100+ matches for rewards that don’t justify the time, stress, or effort.
And that’s before we even talk about:
Before this, despite all of FIFA’s flaws, the game was at least playable. Events were tough but achievable.
With Royalty, you’ve crossed into pure grind and frustration.
Be sure of one thing: if this direction continues, a lot of players will leave. And then someone will have to explain internally how a season that started strong suddenly lost its player base.
all designed to keep us coming back to play. why these things have limited time so people think i must get on and play these games or i will miss out. I always find cup competitions in fut like that and in fut champs. It does feel like it purposely puts you up against much more difficult opponents. then usually after a couple of goes in the cups it suddenly gives you much easier opponent's so you can complete it.
I agree, but I also think its designed to frustrate us into buying FC points, as they put the nice evo rewards for casual players behind double heavyweight tournament win conditions where they know it will be a sweat fest, designed so that the average to intermediate player's team will just gets totally exposed as behind the power curve, if their team hadn't already been exposed when trying to complete the lightweight and the middleweight tournaments to unlock the heavyweight.
as you get more and more frustrated by the grind, and after coming up against full TOTY/meta sweat teams, they want you to finally say F*** it! and buy FC points to upgrade your team.
hence why BOTH the bruiser+ and the tiki+ are locked behind the x2 heavyweight tournament win condition. They could have put one behind a x1 tourney win, and then the 2nd PS+ as a bonus for a 2nd tourney win but they intentionally chose not to.
