Career Mode Feedback - Unrealistic Transfer Requests and Negotiations (PS4)
Hello EA SPORTS FC Development Team,
I would like to report two significant issues I have experienced in Career Mode on PS4. These issues negatively affect the realism of the game and make managing a team much more difficult and frustrating.
- Excessive Player Transfer Requests and the Inability to Renew Contracts
Nearly half of my squad has submitted transfer requests, despite these players receiving regular playing time, participating in matches, and the team achieving good results in competitions.
The problem continues even when starting a new season. As the contracts of several players approach expiration, I am unable to renew them because they have submitted transfer requests.
When I select the contract renewal option, the game displays a message stating that the player’s contract cannot be renewed because they have submitted a transfer request. I am completely prevented from entering contract negotiations, so I have no opportunity to convince these players to stay at the club.
This is a serious issue because I risk losing nearly half of my squad when their contracts expire, even though these players receive regular playing time and the team performs well.
I believe the player morale and transfer request systems need significant improvement. Transfer requests should be based on realistic circumstances, and players who are regularly involved in matches and part of a successful team should not become dissatisfied without a clear reason.
Most importantly, managers should be allowed to negotiate contract renewals with players who have submitted transfer requests. Even if a player initially wants to leave, the manager should have an opportunity to convince them to stay instead of being completely prevented from negotiating.
- Unrealistic Transfer Fees and Contract Negotiations
I have also experienced unrealistic behavior when negotiating transfer fees with clubs and contract terms with players and their agents.
When attempting to sign a new player, the selling club may initially request a specific transfer fee. However, when I submit a lower offer and attempt to negotiate, the club may suddenly demand a significantly higher amount than its original asking price.
The same problem occurs during contract negotiations. When negotiating a player’s salary, signing bonus, and agent fee, the agent may initially request a specific amount. However, if I attempt to negotiate a lower amount, the agent may suddenly increase their demands significantly, sometimes approaching or even exceeding twice the original amount.
These sudden increases make negotiations feel illogical and unrealistic. Instead of allowing reasonable bargaining and compromise, the game appears to penalize the user for attempting to negotiate a lower price or better contract terms.
I suggest improving the negotiation system so that counteroffers remain reasonable and consistent with the original demands. Clubs, players, and agents should respond to offers in a more realistic manner, allowing negotiations to progress through reasonable compromises rather than sudden and excessive increases.
I hope the development team will investigate both issues and consider addressing them in a future title update. Fixing these problems would significantly improve squad management, long-term planning, transfer negotiations, and the overall Career Mode experience.
Thank you for your time and for continuing to improve EA SPORTS FC.
