Career Mode Transfer Budgets Are Broken – Road to Glory Needs to Be Rewarding

Title: Career Mode Transfer Budgets Are Broken – Road to Glory Needs to Be Rewarding

Dear EA Sports FC Team,

I want to raise an issue with the transfer budget system in Manager Career Mode, especially when playing a Road to Glory save with a smaller club.

In my Career Mode save, my club earned:

  • €25.17 million in prize money
  • €5.44 million from player sales
  • €556,800 from ticket sales

Despite these earnings and successfully managing the club’s finances, the board only gave me a transfer budget of €4.36 million for the following season.

How does this make sense?

It feels like the game bases future transfer budgets too heavily on the club’s original financial status rather than rewarding actual performance, financial success and growth.

If I start with a small club and manage to achieve great results, earn millions in prize money, sell players for profit and keep expenses under control, the club should grow financially over time.

This is what Road to Glory is supposed to be about!

I’m not asking for unlimited money or unrealistic budgets. I want a realistic financial progression system where success actually matters.

My suggestions:

  1. Performance-based budgets: Winning trophies, earning prize money and achieving promotion should meaningfully increase future transfer budgets.
  2. Club financial growth: Smaller clubs should be able to grow financially over multiple successful seasons instead of remaining restricted by their original budget.
  3. Better prize money allocation: A reasonable percentage of competition earnings should become available for transfers.
  4. Reward smart management: Selling players for profit, reducing wages and maintaining healthy finances should benefit the club’s future transfer budget.
  5. Make Road to Glory rewarding: Starting with a small club and turning it into a European powerhouse should be possible through good management and sporting success.

Right now, it feels like the game punishes players for starting with smaller clubs, even when they perform exceptionally well.

Please review and improve the transfer budget progression system in Manager Career Mode.

Road to Glory is one of the most enjoyable ways to play Career Mode, but it needs a financial system that properly rewards success and allows smaller clubs to grow naturally.

Thank you for listening to the Career Mode community.
