Did the referee forget the cards?

I’ve played about 125 hours now and have been tackled in various ways, some completely fair but I haven't seen a single red card since I started playing.

A 1v1 against the keeper, last man tackled from behind and kills me, results in a penalty and it's a yellow card, and now it's a 50/50 for a goal.

I just played against someone who made 138 tackles and got 2 yellow cards.

It seems that in the long run this can be exploited, and it kills the sense of flair one wants to create during a match.
