FC 27 Ultimate Team Needs an Offline Division Rivals League

Hi everyone,

I'm 43 years old. I'm not particularly good with a controller, and I wouldn't exactly call myself a skilled FIFA player. But I've always loved football games, and I genuinely enjoy playing FC 27.

A few days ago, I decided to try Division Rivals for the first time.

My first match in Division 10? I lost 10-0. Yes, TEN goals!

I played five matches in total and somehow managed to win one of them. And trust me, even that one wasn't easy!

I know I'm not a great player. Maybe I'll improve with practice, but right now I'm definitely not ready for Division Rivals, let alone Champions.

And I honestly don't think I'm the only one.

That's why I mostly play Squad Battles. I enjoy playing against the AI, trying different tactics, improving my squad, and slowly getting better at the game.

But Squad Battles has one big limitation.

After completing the 16 weekly matches that count towards the rankings, there's no real league progression left to work towards. Sure, I can keep playing, but there's no promotion to chase or division to climb.

So here's my suggestion: Give us a proper Offline Division Rivals mode in Ultimate Team.

HOW WOULD IT WORK?

Imagine a league system just like Division Rivals, starting in Division 10 and working your way up to Division 1, except your opponents are controlled by the AI.

For example:

Division 10: Semi-Pro
Divisions 9-8: Professional
Divisions 7-6: World Class
Divisions 5-4: Legendary
Divisions 3-1: Progressively tougher AI, all the way up to Ultimate

Of course, that's just an example. EA could balance the difficulty however they see fit.

The important thing is having a proper promotion and relegation system.

Win enough games, get promoted. Struggle too much, stay in your division or get relegated.

And most importantly, no 16-match weekly limit on league progression.

Let us play, improve, and climb the divisions at our own pace.

LET US FACE REAL ULTIMATE TEAM SQUADS FROM EACH DIVISION

This is actually one of the parts that excites me the most.

Just like Squad Battles, our opponents could be real Ultimate Team squads created by other players.

But here's the difference: the squads we face would be based on our division.

If I'm in Division 10, let me face squads belonging to Division 10 Rivals players.

If I reach Division 5, let me face squads from Division 5.

And if I somehow manage to reach Division 1 one day, let me face the incredible teams built by Division 1 players.

The matches would still be against the AI, with difficulty adjusted to the division.

Think about it.

Right now, I'm nowhere near good enough to compete against a real Division 1 player. Maybe I never will be.

But if I keep practicing, improving my squad, and learning the game, I could at least experience playing against the kind of teams those players have built.

And maybe, one day, actually beat them. Well, their AI-controlled teams at least!

That would be a fantastic feeling.

WHY DO I THINK WE NEED THIS?

  1. Not everyone is ready to compete against other people.

Some of us are older, some of us struggle with controllers, and some of us simply don't have the time or reflexes to become competitive players.

But we still love Ultimate Team.

We deserve a way to enjoy meaningful competition at our own level.

  1. Squad Battles is fun, but it isn't enough.

Once those 16 weekly ranking matches are finished, I lose that feeling of having something to work towards.

I don't just want to collect weekly points. I want to compete in a league, get promoted, occasionally get relegated, and fight my way back up.

I want the Rivals experience, just against the AI.

  1. Building our Ultimate Teams should have a long-term purpose.

One of my favourite parts of Ultimate Team is collecting players, opening packs, trying different formations, and gradually building a stronger squad.

But at some point, you start wondering:

What am I actually building this team for?

With an offline league, the answer would be simple.

To compete, improve, and reach the next division.

  1. We could improve at our own pace.

Today, I might learn to comfortably beat Professional AI.

Tomorrow, I might start competing at World Class.

Maybe after a few weeks, I'll finally be able to handle Legendary.

And if I ever reach Ultimate difficulty, that would be a genuine achievement for me.

I'd much rather earn that progression through promotions than simply change a difficulty setting in a menu.

  1. Seeing the squads of higher-division players would be exciting.

Imagine getting promoted and discovering the teams people in higher divisions actually use.

I could see special cards I've never faced before, discover new players, and maybe get ideas for improving my own squad.

Even if I'm not ready to face those players online, I could still challenge their teams offline.

  1. Rewards would be nice, but they're NOT the main reason I'm asking for this.

Of course, we all enjoy getting good rewards.

We watch YouTubers opening incredible packs and packing amazing players like kids staring through a candy store window.

It would be nice to experience a little of that excitement ourselves!

Getting the same rewards as Division Rivals would be fantastic.

But if competitive players think that's unfair, slightly lower rewards would be fine too.

Or here's another idea: Give us the same rewards and increase the rewards for online Rivals players. Everybody wins!

Jokes aside, I'm not asking for more packs or free coins.

What I really want is a league where I can keep progressing.

The feeling of earning promotion would mean far more to me than opening another pack.

MAYBE MANAGERS COULD PLAY A BIGGER ROLE TOO?

This is just an additional thought, not the main suggestion.

We already have managers in Ultimate Team, but their influence feels fairly limited.

Maybe in a future version of this offline league, managers could have a more active role.

Different managers could influence how AI teams play, which tactics they use, or how they react during matches.

That could make facing different squads more interesting, even at the same difficulty level.

But I understand that's a much bigger idea.

My main request is much simpler: A permanent Ultimate Team league with promotion and relegation, played against AI-controlled teams.

ONE LAST THING

I don't think this idea should be impossible to implement.

Division Rivals already has a league and progression system. Squad Battles already allows us to play against AI-controlled Ultimate Team squads created by real players.

Why not bring those two concepts together?

I'm just a 43-year-old guy who loves FIFA, isn't particularly good with a controller, and conceded 10 goals in his very first Division 10 match.

Maybe I'll never be good enough to play Champions.

But I'd love to start in Division 10 against Semi-Pro AI, slowly improve, climb through the divisions, build a stronger team, and maybe one day reach Division 1.

And if I ever manage to beat an AI-controlled squad belonging to a Division 1 player, that would honestly feel like winning a trophy to me.

Not all of us want to become competitive online players. Some of us just love football, building our teams, and having something meaningful to work towards.

I think there's room for us in Ultimate Team too.

I really hope EA considers something like this, whether for FC 27 or a future title.

Thanks for reading!
