I'm experiencing several issues with FC27 on PC that make the game feel far from fluid, despite achieving high FPS.
1. Inconsistent performance and possible shader caching
When starting a match, the game typically runs at around **240–250 FPS** on Ultra settings. However, after a cutscene or pausing and returning to the game, FPS can increase to approximately **260–270 FPS**
This makes me wonder whether the game is still caching shaders or performing some kind of background optimisation, as performance seems to change during the match without any settings being altered.
2. Inconsistent frame pacing and microstuttering
Even when FPS is high, frame pacing doesn't feel consistent, particularly when using the full Ultra preset.
Fast camera pans can produce noticeable microstuttering, which seems potentially related to certain rendering effects, cloth animations or the Ultra settings.
The game can report high FPS but still doesn't feel as smooth as I would expect from a 360Hz display.
I have tested multiple FPS caps, including:
* 60
* 90
* 120
* 144
* 180
* 240
* External caps at 250, 270 and 280
* Uncapped (~300 FPS)
The issue persists across these settings, so it doesn't appear to be caused simply by running at an excessively high FPS.
3. Juddery and unnatural player animations during left-stick dribbling
This is my biggest concern.
During standard, low-speed left-stick dribbling (without sprinting), player animations appear to **judder rather than transition smoothly**.
The movement looks unnatural, almost as though some animation frames or transitional movements are missing. It gives the impression that players aren't moving fluidly, despite the game rendering at high FPS.
I'm unsure whether this is an intentional design choice intended to improve responsiveness, or whether it's an unintended animation/locomotion issue.
If this is intentional, I personally feel the trade-off is negative. I'd much rather have smoother, more natural-looking animations than movement that feels visually juddery and disconnected.
The issue was already present during the beta, and I had hoped it would be addressed before release.
**Could the developers clarify whether these animation changes are intentional?**
Has anyone else experienced the same judder during standard left-stick movement, particularly at low speeds?
I'd really appreciate it if the team could investigate the animation blending, locomotion system and frame pacing, because the game currently feels far less fluid than I would expect given the hardware and FPS I'm achieving.
