Complete List of Gameplay Issues and Frustrations in EA FC 26 Ultimate Team

Overall Frustration

  • The biggest issue is not winning or losing.
  • The main frustration is that player attributes, AI behaviour, movement, positioning, passing, physicality, officiating, and responsiveness often feel disconnected from both the player ratings and the user's inputs.
  • Many matches feel as though the game is operating under different gameplay conditions despite using the same squad, tactics, and style of play.
  • The experience often feels inconsistent, unpredictable, and outside the player's control.

Pace, Responsiveness and Movement

  • Players often feel significantly slower than their attributes suggest.
  • A 91 Pace attacker regularly fails to outrun defenders with much lower Pace ratings.
  • Pace differences between players often feel meaningless.
  • Opponent players seem noticeably faster, more agile, and more responsive.
  • My players take too long to accelerate after receiving the ball.
  • Opposing players instantly react, close down space, and recover positions.
  • Attackers with a clear head start are frequently caught within a few steps.
  • Players often feel heavy, sluggish, and unresponsive.
  • The entire team can feel slower than the opponent despite comparable player attributes.
  • Sprinting and acceleration feel inconsistent from one match to another.

Input Delay and Gameplay Responsiveness

  • Inputs often feel delayed.
  • Players require extra time to turn, sprint, pass, shoot, or tackle.
  • Commands are sometimes ignored entirely.
  • Gameplay can feel disconnected from controller inputs.
  • The same team can feel responsive in one match and completely unresponsive in the next.
  • Gameplay quality changes dramatically between matches without any obvious reason.

Passing Issues

  • Passing frequently ignores the intended target.
  • Simple short passes are often misplaced.
  • Even when two open teammates are available, the ball can travel directly between them and onto an opponent's feet.
  • Through balls often select the wrong attacker.
  • Forward passes frequently target players in offside positions.
  • Passing power and direction feel inconsistent.
  • Build-up play is often ruined by inexplicable passing errors.

Offside Problems

  • Attackers constantly drift into offside positions.
  • Players move offside at the exact moment a pass is played.
  • Through balls frequently result in unnecessary offsides.
  • Attacking AI often fails to hold a proper line.
  • A disproportionate number of attacks end with offside calls.
  • Players seem incapable of adjusting their runs to avoid obvious offsides.

Player Switching

  • Player switching regularly selects the wrong player.
  • Switching sometimes fails completely.
  • The nearest player to the ball is often not selected.
  • Defensive switching becomes especially unreliable during dangerous attacks.
  • In attacking situations, the receiver may not become the controlled player quickly enough.

Attacking AI

  • Attackers make illogical runs.
  • Players run behind the goal line and still appear to expect a pass.
  • Some attackers run directly into the net and remain there.
  • Teammates fail to make intelligent supporting runs.
  • Players occupy poor positions despite large areas of open space.
  • AI attackers often hide behind defenders rather than creating passing lanes.
  • Promising attacks break down because teammates refuse to move.

Failure to Support the Ball Carrier

  • Teammates often stand still while the player on the ball is under pressure.
  • Triggered runs do not consistently work.
  • Players often jog instead of sprinting into available space.
  • Midfielders fail to support attacks.
  • Attackers remain static rather than creating options.
  • The player in possession is frequently left isolated.

Defensive AI Problems

  • Defenders sometimes move away from danger instead of toward it.
  • Defensive players fail to track obvious runs.
  • Whole defensive lines can lose shape for no apparent reason.
  • Defenders sometimes watch attacks unfold without reacting.
  • Players ignore runners moving through their zone.
  • Defensive AI appears significantly weaker than the opponent's AI.

AI Defending by Opponents

  • Opponent defenders instantly close down attackers.
  • Opponent AI intercepts passes at an unrealistic rate.
  • Opponent defenders recover position extremely quickly.
  • Defensive pressure appears constant throughout an entire match.
  • Opponent defenders often perform better than manually controlled players.
  • It can feel as though multiple players are pressing simultaneously without any loss of structure.

Unrealistic Recovery Speed

  • After clearing a corner, my attacker can have open field ahead of him, yet several opposing defenders recover from my penalty area and catch him almost immediately.
  • Opponent players recover over huge distances unrealistically quickly.
  • Counterattacks lose effectiveness because defenders seem capable of teleporting back into position.
  • Opposing players appear to have much higher stamina and acceleration than my own players.

Physicality and Tackling

  • Opponents can aggressively charge into my players without being penalized.
  • My players are often knocked several metres off the ball.
  • Physical contact feels heavily inconsistent.
  • Identical challenges are judged differently depending on which team makes them.
  • Tackles frequently rebound directly back to the attacker.
  • Physical battles feel predetermined rather than skill-based.

Fouls and Refereeing

  • Similar incidents are judged differently for each side.
  • Minor contact by my players is often penalized.
  • Equivalent or stronger contact by opponents is ignored.
  • Penalties are awarded for very soft challenges.
  • Refereeing decisions frequently feel inconsistent.
  • Physical duels lack a predictable standard.

Ball Control and First Touches

  • Players take unnecessarily heavy touches.
  • First-touch quality varies dramatically.
  • Receivers often miscontrol simple passes.
  • Players react too slowly to loose balls.
  • Opponents seem to win far more second balls and rebounds.

Attacking Positioning

  • Players do not attack dangerous spaces inside the box.
  • Attackers frequently stand behind defenders.
  • Teammates often occupy the same area, reducing passing options.
  • Runs are mistimed or directed into crowded areas.
  • Open spaces are consistently ignored.

Counterattacks

  • Players fail to break forward quickly after recovering possession.
  • Counterattacks frequently die because teammates refuse to run.
  • Opponent recovery speed often eliminates numerical advantages.
  • Fast breaks rarely feel as dangerous as they should.

Goalkeepers and Finishing

  • Goalkeeper performances vary wildly from match to match.
  • Similar shots can produce completely different outcomes.
  • Finishing feels inconsistent even when using the same player from the same positions.
  • Goalkeepers occasionally make superhuman saves while conceding simple chances moments later.

Match-to-Match Inconsistency

  • One match can feel smooth and responsive.
  • The next match can feel slow, heavy, and delayed.
  • The same tactics and players perform completely differently between matches.
  • Identical situations often produce different outcomes.
  • Gameplay lacks consistency and predictability.
