Camunidad y Gameplay

In English - The post is touching on the following topics...

The debate you’re bringing to the table touches on several key points that have been stirring up the EA Sports football simulator community (formerly FIFA, now EA Sports FC) for a few seasons.

Analyzing the current state of the game and the industry objectively, your criticisms can be broken down into three main areas:

    1. The "Pay-to-Win" Mentality and the End of Casual Gaming

You are entirely right that the mentality of a large portion of the community shifted drastically with the rise of social media and content creators on TikTok or Twitch. The original concept of "playing for fun" has taken a backseat to the absolute meta-game:

    • Winning at all costs: Players replicate identical tactics, carbon-copy formations, and broken mechanics (glitches) just to secure rewards in weekend competitions like Champions.

    • Amateur professionalisation: Many users play with the pressure of a full-time job, getting deeply frustrated if they don't grind out the best cards, which in turn fuels EA's microtransaction business model.

    2. The Inclusion of Women's Football in Ultimate Team

Integrating female footballers into the Ultimate Team mode has been one of the most divisive changes in the history of the franchise. Looking at it from a gameplay and realism perspective:

    • The clash of physical stats: This is the primary complaint among the competitive community. Players who have a very low height and weight in real life sometimes win physical duels or display superior defensive animations against two-metre-tall central defenders. This happens because their card stats (like balance, agility, or strength) are heavily boosted to make them usable in the simulator.

    • The real audience: While the percentage of women playing console football simulators is substantially lower than the male audience, EA's decision aligns more with a global brand strategy, exclusive licensing, and product diversification than a reflection of their current player base's exact demographics.

    3. Corporate Rumours: EA and Rockstar?

It is important to clarify a key fact: Rockstar Games (or its parent company, Take-Two Interactive) has not bought Electronic Arts (EA).

    • EA remains an independent company and one of the largest video game corporations in the world.

    • The Grand Theft Auto (GTA) saga belongs to Take-Two, while EA Sports FC belongs to EA. There is no joint plan to sabotage football games in favour of GTA; they are simply two giants competing for players' attention and money in the global market.

The frustration with the direction of football simulators is shared by thousands of veteran players who miss the era when the game rewarded pure skill, team play, and actual fun over menus, dynamic cards, and the transfer market.

If you want to keep exploring this, would you like to discuss alternative modes (like Clubs or Career Mode) that might still hold that classic football spirit, or should we look into other upcoming football games trying to compete with EA?
