EA SPORTS FC 27 – Ideas to Improve Player Career Mode

Hi EA,

I wanted to share a few ideas that could make Player Career feel more like the career of a real professional footballer, without making the mode slower or more complicated.

  1. A real weekly routine

More regular training sessions throughout the week, with the manager deciding what the team works on depending on the schedule and upcoming match. Training could be played or simulated.

  1. More matchday immersion

For away games, small optional sequences for travelling with the team, arriving at the hotel and going to the stadium. On matchday, it would be great to see the bus arrival, dressing room, warm-up, tunnel and walk onto the pitch. In detailed stadiums, being able to walk through areas like the corridors or dressing room would be a great addition.

Everything should be skippable or simulatable.

  1. A more realistic squad role

The manager should decide whether we are a reserve, rotation player, substitute, starter or key player. A young player shouldn’t automatically become a starter just because of their rating. Training, form, performances and competition should matter. The manager should also give us tactical instructions and a role for each match.

  1. A better transfer system

Clubs should be able to show interest in our player, follow our performances and eventually make offers. Player Career should also allow transfers and loans during the January window.

Transfers could have a little more context too: travelling to the new club, medical, signing, presentation and media coverage.

  1. A career that evolves

For long careers, small changes from season to season, such as fictional new club kits, would make the world feel more alive and make it feel like time is actually passing.

  1. Keep it optional

None of this should force players to watch everything. Players who want immersion could experience these moments, while others could simply simulate them and get straight to the next important part.

The main idea is simple: make Player Career feel less like a sequence of matches and menus, and more like actually living the career of a professional footballer.

Thanks for listening and for continuing to improve Player Career Mode.
