Suggestion: Simplify Player Role Familiarity (+ and ++)
I believe EA should simplify the Player Role Familiarity system.
My suggestion is to have only two levels:
- Base Role: The player is capable of performing the role.
- Role+: The player is an expert in that role.
I don't think an additional Role++ level is necessary.
A player's overall rating and individual attributes should determine how effectively they execute the role. For example, an 88-rated midfielder with Box-to-Box+ should be capable of outperforming an 84-rated midfielder with Box-to-Box++, depending on their attributes.
The current system places considerable emphasis on role familiarity, sometimes making players with lower overall ratings more attractive simply because they have ++.
I believe simplifying the system would:
- Give players greater freedom when building their squads.
- Make individual player attributes more meaningful.
- Allow us to use players we enjoy rather than feeling restricted by ++ requirements.
- Encourage more creative tactical experimentation.
My proposed system: Base Role = competent; Role+ = specialist. Overall rating and individual attributes determine the player's actual quality in that role.
I believe this would make squad building more flexible and enjoyable.
