Hello
I am experiencing a reproducible DirectX 12 crash in EA SPORTS FC 27 on my desktop PC. The game launches and allows me to navigate the menus, but crashes when loading into a match, including Rivals.
System specifications
- GPU: Intel Arc A770 16GB (ASRock Phantom Gaming)
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5500
- RAM: 16GB
- Motherboard: MSI B550M PRO-VDH WIFI
- Operating system: Windows 11 Home
- Graphics driver tested: 32.0.101.9030 and 32.0.101.9034
- Resizable BAR: Enabled
- Game platform: Steam
Exact error
DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED
DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG
The error indicates that the GPU stopped responding to commands during gameplay.
Troubleshooting already completed
- Used DDU in Safe Mode to remove the graphics driver.
- Reinstalled Intel Arc graphics drivers, including 9034.
- Tested driver 9030 and then returned to 9034.
- Reinstalled EA Javelin AntiCheat.
- Verified the Steam game files; all 687 files validated successfully.
- Reset the FC 27 configuration files.
- Closed background applications and overlays.
- Checked Windows Reliability Monitor, which did not provide a useful crash record.
- Attempted to locate the DirectX and Intel shader-cache folders, but the expected folders were unavailable.
Additional observations
- EA SPORTS FC 26 runs normally.
- Other games, including Fortnite, GTA, Roblox, and Batman, run normally.
- The crash occurs specifically in FC 27, particularly when loading a match.
- The PC remains responsive during some black-screen incidents.
- Reinstalling drivers 9030 and 9034 did not resolve the issue.
I found other reports of FC 27 crashing with the same DirectX error on Intel Arc A750 and A770 graphics cards. One A770 report also describes the crash occurring with driver 9034.
Could Intel investigate whether this is a driver compatibility issue affecting FC 27’s DirectX 12 rendering path? I would appreciate a confirmed workaround or a driver version that resolves this issue.
I can provide the DirectX error screenshot and additional system information if required.
Thank you.
