Server change problems in Jordan

Hello EA Support,

I am a player in Jordan using Zain Fiber internet. Until recently, my ping in EA SPORTS FC 27 was around 8 ms. Today, it suddenly increased to a stable 66 ms.

At approximately the same time, other Zain Fiber players in Jordan, including players in my area, reported the same issue. The recommended matchmaking region now shows Southern Europe 1, whereas we previously experienced much lower ping when connecting through the Middle East region.

My general connection quality is still excellent, so this appears to be potentially related to game data center selection or network routing rather than a general internet speed issue.

Could you please investigate whether there has been a change in matchmaking regions, game data center routing, or connectivity affecting Zain Fiber users in Jordan?

We would appreciate it if the issue could be investigated and the previous low-latency connection restored if possible.

Thank you.

  • I am experiencing exactly the same issue in Jordan on Zain Fiber.

My ping in FC 27 Ultimate Team was consistently around 8 ms, but it suddenly increased to around 60–66 ms after severe speed lag started. The ping has remained high since then.

Other Zain Fiber users in Jordan are reporting the same problem, while players using other ISPs, such as Vital and JCS, reportedly still get around 8 ms.

This makes me suspect a possible routing issue or a change in matchmaking region/game data center selection affecting Zain users in Jordan.

Please investigate this issue. It seems to be affecting multiple players, not just one connection.

I’m experiencing exactly the same issue with Zain Fiber in Amman, Jordan, on PS5.

I was consistently getting 6–8 ms ping on Middle East 1 servers, but over the past few days, my ping has suddenly increased to 70–80 ms, and I now appear to be connecting to West European servers.

I’ve already contacted Zain, and they claim there are no issues on their end. However, multiple Zain Fiber customers are reporting the exact same problem, while players using VTEL in Jordan are reportedly still getting around 6 ms.

This strongly suggests a routing, peering, or EA server-selection issue specifically affecting Zain customers.

EA, could you please escalate this to your network engineering team and investigate why Zain Jordan players are no longer connecting to the same low-latency Middle East servers?

This is clearly not an isolated connection issue, and restarting routers or changing DNS settings will not address the underlying problem.

We would appreciate an official response and investigation rather than generic troubleshooting instructions.
