Connecting to Football Ultimate Team is not possible at the moment

Every time I try and load up ultimate team I get a message screen saying “Connecting to Football Ultimate Team is not possible at the moment. You will now be returned to the main menu.” This issue has been occurring all day and I cannot even load up the companion or web app.
