The major issues would be many backpasses instead of short passes to the intended player, and low crosses instead of high crosses.  Through balls also end up being passes to the nearest defender, not where the intended pass destination is, e.g. in between the defenders for a "run on". All changed with the last major overhaul. I also noticed the 40m out shots instead of passes.
