Formation usage bug!

I go to Manager mode, select formation I want from the dropdown, check the formation in "jersey" icon, it also matches and when I start my game it is the formation I use for my VS attack matches. Very badly done! If I selected formation in Manager mode I want to play with THAT formation, not the one that is used in whole other section of the game.
