It’s “Wolves” not “the Wolves”

Hey, I know this is nit-picky, but if EA wants to make football games for an international audience then it should show respect for the sport and its fans by knowing what it’s talking about.

Anyone who follows English football (including this American) learns pretty quickly that the club from Wolverhampton are referred to as “Wolves”—not “the Wolves” (as the new Soccer Aid season highlights Justin Kluivert text reads). Sure, this might seem like a small thing, but a typo like this comes across as a “tell” that the people working on this app aren’t genuine football fans (or at least not knowledgeable ones), and this just does further damage to EA’s already touchy relationship with its FC fanbase (most of whom are pretty hard core football fans). Speaking for myself, when I read text like “the Wolves,” it starts to put a lot of other things in a new light. When I think back to posts I’ve made in this forum beseeching EA to stop churning out goofy new content and make FC Mobile gameplay more realistic, I read this misplaced “the” and begin to understand why the game doesn’t look or feel more like actual football—because the folks working at EA apparently aren’t knowledgeable fans of the sport. So, my advice to EA is to take whoever let “the Wolves” get released to the public off of the FC Mobile team and replace them with folks who actually know and follow the sport.
