Star shields

I was at legendary 1 and I had 7 star shields, I lost a game and the star shields didn't activate at all. I got demoted to legendary 2 with 2 stars remaining. Do I have to equip it or is it a bug?

Star shield don't work only in fc champion that's why they don't even show them there.in legendary mode they worked last time 100%. Sayandipdas1
