An Open Letter Demanding Improvements to Garena's EA SPORTS FC Mobile
To EA Sports FC Mobile
I am writing to express serious concerns about the current state and development of EA SPORTS FC Mobile, particularly the experience of Vietnamese players. This letter aims to highlight recurring problems and propose practical improvements.
1. Continuous OVR Inflation
One of the biggest concerns is the rapid increase in player OVR. Every few months, new cards with higher ratings are released, causing previously valuable players to lose their competitiveness.
Players invest considerable time, resources, and sometimes real money in building their squads, only to see their investments become outdated within a short period. This creates a repetitive cycle of grinding, spending, and replacing players.
EA should slow down OVR inflation, extend the competitive lifespan of existing cards, and focus on playstyles, player characteristics, and tactical diversity rather than simply increasing ratings.
2. Gameplay Quality and Responsiveness
Many players have reported delayed controls, inconsistent player reactions, unreliable teammate AI, and unnatural movements during matches. These issues reduce the feeling of control and undermine the importance of individual skills and tactical decisions.
EA should prioritize improving control responsiveness, artificial intelligence, animations, collision mechanics, and overall gameplay stability instead of focusing excessively on releasing new cards.
3. Server Performance and Match Fairness
Lag, disconnections, and unstable matchmaking continue to frustrate players, especially in competitive modes.
EA is responsible for developing, managing, and operating the game's server infrastructure, including the systems serving Vietnamese players. Therefore, EA should take primary responsibility for server stability and technical issues.
Meanwhile, Garena Vietnam's support and issue-handling processes have often appeared inadequate. Players need effective assistance, clear explanations, and meaningful solutions rather than repeated inconvenience.
Concerns about "scripting" and "momentum" also deserve investigation. Although these claims remain unverified, EA should review unusual gameplay behavior and provide greater transparency.
4. Events, Rewards, and Transfer Market
Repetitive events, similar missions, technical errors, and unsatisfactory rewards can make the game increasingly monotonous. Continuous OVR inflation also reduces player card values and undermines accumulated resources.
EA should introduce more diverse events, improve reward distribution, resolve market-related issues, and maintain a fairer balance between free-to-play and paying players.
5. Responsibilities and Recommendations
EA, as the developer, is responsible for gameplay, OVR progression, server infrastructure, technical systems, and overall product development. Garena Vietnam, as the local publisher, should provide effective customer support, communicate updates clearly, and coordinate with EA to address community feedback.
We respectfully request that both parties:
- Slow down OVR inflation and extend player card lifespans.
- Prioritize gameplay improvements over constant card releases.
- Improve server stability and technical support.
- Investigate match fairness concerns.
- Diversify events and provide reasonable rewards.
- Establish a transparent and effective feedback process.
Conclusion
EA SPORTS FC Mobile has considerable potential, but its long-term success depends on gameplay quality, fairness, stability, and respect for players' time and investment.
Players should not feel pressured to spend money or grind endlessly just to remain competitive. If these concerns remain unresolved, players have every right to stop spending or leave the game.
We hope EA and Garena Vietnam will take these concerns seriously and demonstrate meaningful improvements through concrete actions.
Sincerely,
A concerned FC Mobile player and member of the Vietnamese gaming community.
