I feel your pain. I’ve completed well over 1,500 drafts and have NEVER landed a top player. The probabilities stink. And make no mistake — this is entirely intentional on EA’s part because this is their casino and they want to extract as much money from us as they can. It’s greed — plain and simple.
That’s why I don’t spend money in the game (because I don’t waste my money in casinos) and it’s also why I have stopped encouraging anyone I know to play this game (my son quit some years back). I think about quitting at least twice a week (sometimes more often) because I’m so angry with the way EA has corrupted the franchise. Only my love of the sport and the responsibility of running the league I started keeps me playing (for the moment). Alas, this used to be a fun game that even people of modest means could enjoy. That all changed with the implementation of the draft system (and the abysmal shard trade-in market that accompanies it). You now have to spend hundreds of dollars to build a competitive squad and as soon as you’ve assembled it you can be sure the players will get nerfed and replaced by all new cards — so it’s not even money well invested! It’s a “hamster wheel” that keeps you chasing the next meta card, but never delivers the satisfaction of actually owning and enjoying your ultimate team.
That’s why my advice is this: If you’re unhappy with the draft odds (and you have every right to be), then don’t give them your money and definitely don’t give them your loyalty because they will give you nothing in return. They care only about their bottom line and that means they only care about any of us about as much as a predator cares about its prey. Read the comments in here and you get a pretty good gauge of what I mean. There are loads and loads of legitimate issues raised everyday (and for months and months on end) about the poor quality of gameplay, the unfairness of matchmaking, and the general lack of affordability/poor rewards, and almost none of these comments receive a reply, let alone action.
This is EA showing us who they are with their actions and my advice to you is BELIEVE them the first time.
