How do you shoot penalties?

Penalties are completely different and there is no tutorial on how to properly shoot them. I have only had 2 so far, and both of them were shot about 10 yards over the crossbar, where as the last version of the game would have been a 100% score. 

The players are far too slow,especially on defense. They take horrible angles when trying to cut off attackers

Passes are at times illogical especially near or in the box. The player right in front of me was not chosen when I pressed a simple pass, instead opting for a player in an offside position past two defenders on the other side of the box.
