No Lob No Prob (Through Lob continued… 🦞
This is a follow up to the last post about how the through lob determines the game. Here’s another example with photos of the wacky clown show unfolding. The good news is, if you learn to play handicapped and just accept the fact that your players are puppets and you’re not in control, sometime you can get a tie, instead of a loss. As in this case. But, just look at this wild match:
A - Our failed lob attempt. Drogba running into open space, not offsides. But Benzema passes the ball behind him to let the defender get it.
B - Drogba helplessly turns around and yells “What were you thinking!?” Benzema replies, “I don’t know! I was being mind controlled by SkyNet”
C - After the failed lob attempt we knew it was only a matter of time before more chaos would ensue. Seconds later, our midfielder comes in for a slide tackle. Perfectly lined up with the ball…
D - But he forgets that slide tackling should be done with the feet, not the face. 🤦🏾♂️
E - If it wasn’t recorded you wouldn’t believe it. But, yes! Another failed perfectly lined up slide tackle attempt.
F - It starts good, but trust me it ends bad…
G - This time its stomach vs ankles. And yeah stomach plus ankles equals yellow card. Great start for our team. Just great.
H - And for the free kick, you guessed it! The opponent does a perfect lob, followed by a spinning header.
I - Luckily our goal keeper made a diving save! But what’s this? Not a single defender can react quick enough to the ball. Incoming killshot
J - Haye Haye! He squeezes effortlessly between two defenseless defenders and blasts the ball for the first painful goal of the game.
Fortunately we were able to use our skills, and play very technicality and carefully avoiding any risky complicated skills like slide tackles, and came away with a tie. All thanks to that first test lob. The “test lob” is something I recommend every player do in order to determine how to best approach the rest of the match.
