There indeed has to be a mechanic that you either are not aware of, or cannot admit due to having signed an NDA with EA. Nothing else explains my strikers all of a sudden passing their ball backwards, or not reacting to a command. At a certain level or threshold of H2H points I simply cannot score, no matter how good of a run-through I get with my 107 Mbappe. It's not, as far as I've noticed, a matter of skill, but a limit that you hit and are allowed to reach.
I've also heard various theories about RNG, but it doesn't make sense that you have a single match where all of the random "mistake-events" occur, instead of seeing them (losing a ball, not scoring inside the box with a 150+ striking skill etc.) sometimes spread along several games.
But I guess this is a tale old as time; everyone keeps repeating and proving but no one is admitting.
- mendozzamagic5 months agoHero+@5da0e4efc5f6e705 There is no scripting mate and I am not beholden to EA in any way - if there was a scripted limit, then everyone would experience the same thing at exactly the same level, but they don’t … we all hit the same experience at varying levels and it is based on a combination of natural skill limit and our server connection quality.
This time of yeah h2h connectivity is particularly bad as there is a bucketload of additional server and network traffic, which if you are on the cusp of a workable server distance will push you over the edge into the unplayable world of lag.
I am pretty much always past that ledge, with server distance and Australia’s relatively crappy network infrastructure making h2h matches against real people (who are playing and not just letting it autoplay) virtually impossible.
So, while it sucks that you have happened upon a losing streak, it is likely the result of server and network traffic (because there is no such thing as h2h scripts or barriers/thresholds)- 5 months ago
Hey Mendozza.
You could and can easily implement a game controlling mechanism under the hood, and no, all people playing don't have to "experience the limitations at the same level", that makes no sense. You could easily code a system where the game takes to account, say, the money you've paid, the time you've played, or whatever statistics and calculate a probability. If the opposing player would excel in either category, or vice versa fail to meet the hidden statistical quota, you could easily manipulate the game mechanics (increase mistakes, nerf statistics in situations, whatever really). Many people are convinced this happens, and EA has to pull quite a few rabbits out of their hat for people to think otherwise. My guess is a need for ad/"pay for play"-profit and thus, keeping players engaged on the long run, evening out the "playing field", by force if need be.
I'm pretty sure EA has a system to keep the money coming in, and it would be stupid if they didn't do that. Almost every content creator and platform does this, no matter if they openly admit this, or only in court.
This is definitely what I feel happens. And I'm not always on the losing side, sometimes the table is turned and I occasionally play against opponents that cannot get past my superman CB's despite them having cards of similar quality. I don't even have to play, I know they'll fail to score in any case, just the same way I do when the table is turned.
I haven't noticed any lag you mentioned, this has got nothing to do with that. I am an old gamer, so I would prolly notice a lag and be able to compensate these sort of issues and score...

- mendozzamagic5 months agoHero+@5da0e4efc5f6e705 not sure what more I can say mate - you are adding two and two together and getting fourteen - there is no mechanism to make it more or less difficult based on what you spend, how you are progressing or any other metric you can make up … it’s simply not the case.
