I spend money on card packs every day (the NZD 9.99 special pack). About a week ago, I could almost always get one or two players rated 110 or higher each day. But for the past three days in a row, I’ve been getting almost only players rated between 106(most of them) and 109 (rare).
You’re probably not imagining things. I saw a post six months ago from someone claiming to be a former EA employee alleging that the packs for P2P’s were systematically rigged to give lower payouts over time because (like any company running a casino), EA generates most of their revenue off of a minority of players who will keep spending in pursuit of the dopamine rush of “packing” that one player they don’t have. Obviously, EA would want to take advantage of this. So, my advice to anyone reading this is (a) know the odds before you make any purchase in the store and (b) think twice before spending your money on any EA product (because they just don’t seem to care much about customer service). Just my two cents.
