yinxie1963 - I actually like the idea, but if they had every event available for the whole season until everyone had been able to claim them, no matter when they started, most people would not have enough room on their device to claim them, and many would complain that they have dead (at least to them) events clogging up their menus.

And at some point, the user has to take responsibility for checking the timers, reading the instructions and paying attention to the in-game notices ... it's not like this was done by stealth, there was plenty of warning and plenty of opportunity to claim the rewards before the event proper finished.
