FC 26 xbox one controller stops working only when playing online!!

Can i get some help with this.. this all of a sudden just started happening and i can't fix it. It's really turning me away from playing this game... The controller stops working the moment i join a game with someone. However it will work if i press pause, i can navigate the pause menu no problem, but as soon as i go back to game nothing. I can't tell you how many times I've gotten kicked with a DNF because of this. Anyone have an answer
