Lost save data when upgrading game

I play on an xbox series x, and I bought the series x version of the game, but it downloaded as the xbox one version. I then downloaded the series x version, but it downloaded to the console as a different game. My save data is also completely gone. Does anyone else have this issue or know how to fix it?
