A lot of great stuff here. Signing on to the following:
- NCAA Teambuilder-style features for relocated franchises. Having the ability to customize colors and uniforms, and the ability to choose from a wide variety & combinations of team names & logos, is essential. This should essentially be Create-A-Team. Use NikeTeam.com's uniform builder as the template for designing a uniform design option to keep it from getting semi-pro bush league. Add in unique ways to customize your franchise; who is the owner? Do you have cheerleaders? A band? How about a mascot? And of course, a Create-A-Stadium feature. It should not take much to build a function that allows you to mix & match a decent-sized list of design elements to create a custom stadium. Indoor or outdoor? Suburbs or city? Grass or turf? What color do you want the seats to be? Then, based on owner performance, provide ways to upgrade this each year, such as expanding the scoreboard, adding more luxury suites, etc. - things that actually have a visual effect on the game's presentation & play.
- Salary Cap Management is another one that's just huge. Nothing like getting to year 3 in my Franchise and I can't make a trade with the Dolphins because they're $160M over the cap. The salaries for re-signing players is so stupid; you're a 75 overall and you want $7M per year? This part of the game needs a major retooling, with many of the features you pointed out being necessary. I don't know that we need to get into fully guaranteed contracts or voidable years, as it can get pretty tedious, but just nailing the basics would be a great improvement.
- Free Agents/UDFA is another major opportunity. Love the Top 100 Free Agents idea. Love the UDFA idea...just ran into this problem last night where I missed on a player in Round 7, then went to try to sign him in the FA pool, and he was gone. This should be like the "Lightning Round" mini-game after the Draft; you have maybe 3 minutes to sign 10 UDFAs and you have a strict budget you can use on them. Maybe in every UDFA class, there is ONE player every year that has a solid rating and you have to find him and bid for him. Would be a great, fun feature. And yes, Comp Picks also needs to happen. This should be a simple add.
- Coaches need to be so much better. Yes, we want real assistants, but if we can't have that, at least let us create coaches, including uploading photos of their face, and then edit their abilities. We should absolutely see former players in the coaching pool, too. We're seeing a lot more success from ex-players now - Dan Campbell, Antonio Pierce, and Deion Sanders, anyone? Also, this would give us the ability to "hire" college coaches. This should be a feature in Madden Community so that custom Coaching Rosters can be edited & shared, just like Draft Classes. Last note on this: for crying out loud, fix the body type & apparel options. Can we at least get Andy Reid's build right? And the man only wears 2 different coats...let's get them in the game. But yeah, love the idea of being able to pursue ex-players for coaches. Guys that have actually coached should be highest priority in the pool, too (Rod Woodson, Hines Ward, Ed Reed, etc.). And there are fired head coaches from previous years' games that should be in the coaching pool. When Madden '25 comes out, Mike Vrabel should be a coach that you could hire. Ditto for Jon Gruden, Urban Meyer, and anyone else who was scanned for the game in recent history.
- Player Customization, though, is undoubtedly my #1 issue. Things took a GIANT step backward in Madden '24. It's beyond annoying now the process and clicks you have to go through to edit a player's appearance, not to mention that some of the sliders don't even work right. Choosing a helmet/facemask is ridiculous. There's absolutely no order to the accessories. It's just flat-out bonkers how bad it's gotten in terms of functionality. You should be able to get very detailed in this feature, quickly & easily, particularly when it comes to player heads/faces. Just follow the lead from some of the other sports games, like WWE's, and give us the ability to truly create here. Right now, it's maddening...no pun intended.
