Loading wrong Superstar

I created two Superstars, a HB and a CB for clarity, and I used the same name (IDK if this matters). I played the CB through the first game of the regular season, after which I created the HB. I reached the first game of the regular season and was looking around the menus. I saw in the Franchise news an update about my CB winning his first regular season game, so I selected it. The game loaded up the menu for my CB. I could either continue play as my CB, or quit to the main menu. After quitting to the main menu, I load back in to my HB, and loaded into my CB again. It appears as though my HB is gone forever, as I see no way to load back in to that player.
