Madden 24 Freezing on PC
Any time I try to play Madden 24 on PC to load into any game it freezes or I maybe get to kick off and then it freezes and I physically cannot play this game. This is an issue that many people have b...
I did all that, This is on EA. I can play bunch of other big game titles fine for over a day if i left my pc on. But this freezes my pc in 4 hours or less. This again is a madden 24 problem didn't happen to 23
Agreed, I even wiped my pc. I only have a i5-2400, 4 core though, so not expecting much. But way more memory, and a much better video card.I was just playing 23 fine last week while watching internet tv, and a whole bunch of other things open. Unlike last few years, I actually make it to start games so I was very optimitisc but can't take the first snap in MUT without freezing.
@Eventualcrowd16The thing is, it even freezes or crashes at low settings, Like 720 low 30 fps, it's no different than 2k at 120 fps, I think they may need to optimize it
I5 2400 is well below min cpu requirement, what do you expect there’s a min req for a reason…smh
@nike23osu My expectations are real simple. That I don't upgrade and the same issues happen, maybe even worse, and then 2 weeks later EA releases a patch that fixes everything.
Let me say this easier to understand, your trying to play a ps5 game on a ps3...there is a reason you cannot play games that come out for say a ps5 on a ps3. If your processor was to work under the minimum requirements it they wouldnt have stopped at 4 generations higher.
okay what about me and others who have a next gen computer.... @nike23osu I play games that can blow away madden 24 like cyberpunk ect way more demanding. This is still a madden 24 problem. They didn't optimize it well for cpus to handle. My friends i9 is getting pushed harder than almost any other game. They trying to blow up cpus out here. No reason my 10th gen i7 should be hitting 100% only on madden 24...... So what about people who play on computers that can match up to a ps7
I have a 5900x with a 4090 gpu usage sits at 80+ while cpu sits at 25% ish with thermals for both staying below 62…I’d say us with ps7 systems can run it fine with it staying above 90fps while staying at 117 (gsync 120hz monitor) while streaming at 4K…just for proof and not plugging channel but here’s a vid doing it and is smooth and responsive for me…I’d say a system problem if having issues with ps7 hardware 😉
@nike23osuI'm talking about crashing not fps, my fps even with my mid grade pc is fine. I'm just curious why a bunch of pcs over 3 thousand dollars are crashing. Even ones with the better I9 than your 5090 XD. But you could have maybe answered the problem right here. Madden didn't optimize it for intel cpus? idk that would be dumb. In your you tube video you don't show cpu usage my guy. Just shows you playing in 4k. Anyone could do that. I'm bit confused why you shared those I am missing something or you just flexing top 3 best pc set up? Tho weird flex cuz it's not i9
Anyways, point is.... pc people most of them... better or worst pcs than yours. which hard to do better you need the i9, still crash, and all ea says is reboot or check system files. But the main point is all these PCs over shoot the specs and crash. For example the best pc i9 4090 crashes. That is way over the limit. My 2060 i7 crashes, Not way over the limit but plenty to play this game. Also to note crashes the same in 4k 144 fps low, and 720 30 fps low.
Hope they fix this because madden 23 is well optimized... Well i could be wrong I never check how much cpu it was dragging but i was playing in like over 60 fps in 4k. I just know the game demands higher cpu than gpu.... what is weird is my gpu is running the same % almost... unless your playing in 8k
So again the other guy in the comment section i can see why he maybe crashes with lower specs, but why other people with well working pcs with over powered specs crash. For me it's every 4 hours at least. I also never ran into a game that freezes my pc, and it's not even getting warmed up
Because it was smooth and fluid which people claim its unplayable. One thing people need to understand about PC is that if your pc restarts on one game not others is that games will not cause that on their own, your PC will reboot or bsod because of the hardware, ram sticks, ram going bad on gpu, improper cooling, dirty pc ect, but most users will not accept that because they have blah blah so it should be like that for everyone, and when its not well here we are...i cannot comment on intel stuff because i currently dont have an intel, who knows that is possible but highly unlikely, id be willing to bet that a majority of issues when these arise are on the user end.
Also you keep talking about almighty i9 being best its number 6 on the list behind 5 other amd cpu just to correct you on that...idc who the chip maker is for the record but when i built my PC 3 years ago the 5900x was the chip to get and is still on list today soooo no flexing just speaking up about not having any issues. I will leave with a parting image from toms hardware showing cpu hierarchy tho

@Thirdcoast-Bobby and my only point was to say, this is like my 4th year doing the same thing. I want to see your rig working nicely on Madden first, before I upgrade. Otherwise, I have lots more games to play. Madden23 was trash when it first came out too and they have done a good job getting it right.
You must be new to gaming and PCs, Intel right now has the most powerful processor
Intel Core i9-13900KS this is facts google ask many techs it's just the truth idk where you been.
The Intel Core i9-13900KS is the latest CPU to launch in Intel's 13th generation, and it's the top-performing CPU to date
Ryzen is still best bang for buck unless they release another cpu shortly.
Also for this game to make a powerful processor like yours run at almost 30 percent is weird sounds like fivem.
also in your youtube clip you don't show a steady percent is what i would like to see, my cpu stays at 35% then randomly jumps to 100%
I can play major titles with no problem like cyberpunk new world ect all above 1080.
Sorry your comment just comes off like a "off topic" besides telling that other guy he is under spec for what the game says. Saying your specs and showing your youtube clip was just uhh pointless so seem like a flex, esp with no benchmarks or anything was confused. No one is getting bad fps or thermals heating up. Just game is badly opt at the moment. So I guess you need either need above next gen pc to run it or crash and freeze till they fix.
Yeah no dust, rebooted, no files corrupted. Play way more hardcore demanding games. Yeah ea fault 100%
I never ran into a game that just randomly for no reason shoots cpu 70% up then straight back down for nothing. My ram is fine. I understand there is idiots out there but I am not one of them.. I have a clean pc with air flow, Thermals are fine. PCs are far superior to console if opt right
So please idk if you work for ea or not but understand horribly optimized games crash or make your computer run more than what it should. I i have over 100 games on my steam never once have i seen my cpu shoot from 40% to 100%. I do find your comments annoying only because it seems like your defending their horrible optimization to this game. Which they need to fix! As a developer I understand that better PCs can handle horrible optimization. But in the end of the day you could have a 6090 with a i12 30th gen, If they game is badly optimized you can still crash or freeze.
I just think people don't need a 1900$ pc to play madden 24. Maybe 900$
@Eventualcrowd16so you crashed on madden 23 when it came out then it got better? I bought madden 23 later in the year on sale was waiting for crossplay. I know 24 is more demanding and next gen but my specs are good enough and my pc is healthy. I would upgrade to at least a 3060 3070 good i7 or good ryzen 7 If i were you, that would last another 4 years at least. I'm waiting for the next gpu to come out that beats 4090 and i will likely get that i9 KS with it. Or whatever processor is best at that time
I literally had to overclock my cpu to 5.4ghz to get it to work for a little bit, but very unstable
Aye i got a gtx 1650 i5-11400H core gaming laptop with 16gb ram do you think this is good enough to run madden

LOL, come on now man, dont be a homer there are 5 AMD chips that perform better than that precious 13900ks, thats from every major review site. You dont even know what your talking about...
I have all the "big" games as you say, play them all in 4k hdr...they all have very similar characteristics with how the hardware reacts on my setup...actually madden has very good and low frametime and frame pacing compaired to cyberpunk at full max settings in 4k just for example. My cpu isnt powerful compaired to the new gens now after 3 years (actually im slightly cpu bottlenecked in games) but 25-60% is right on par with all the big games you mentioned
Madden 24 CPU and GPU Util test - YouTube
top right my man, never comes close to 100% cpu usage, and thats while encoding and streaming on same pc...you dont need a 2k pc to play any game...but if you expect a 900 dollar pc to look and play as good as that 2k pc your gonna always be disappointed...to many people try to play these games at settings their pc isnt suited for tbh.
actually every one and their mother knows intel is in head unless you have a workstation thread ripper which no one does. The website your looking at is prob best value lmao. It's okay my guy idk why you come to ea section to argue about pcs lol. No homer I'm 28, the best i9 beat the best ryzen 9, am I a intel fan? No I just buy the best cpu out there that isn't a thread ripper
Now your changing my context, I don't have a 900 dollar pc, I said if people have a 900 dollar this should be playable game meaning they don't crash at 720 low... Which it should be and it's true. You sounds like you are working for EA or just argue to argue changing my context
Just forget i said 2k 4k to much words you get confused, Let me rephrase where you understand better, A 3000$ pc owned by a pc tech should by able to play madden 24 in 720 30 fps low settings. If you can't agree with that your lost.... Another thing is there anti cheat is keeping people from playing who don't even have a discord in the back round. So again unlike you backing up this pc community they need to fix that issue as well. Doesn't happen to me but others with clean pcs. Even this dude with a brand new pc removed his anti virus and firewall still can't play. You must work for EA or just really hate my name Thirdcoast-bobby. I mean I would want to know why my badass cpu is getting pushed to almost 70% if i was you on such a small game like madden 24. But uhh okay?
@Putemonhisbackwith madden being the most heavy cpu game out there right now for no reason, yeah no you can't, but if they fix it idk, laptops get hot and don't have that power. Close call but as of right now no your pc would crash less than a couple hours. But I bet you can play gta 5 which even with it's age has heavy cpu usage compared to games like madden. Best thing you can do is complain and maybe they will opt it better for pcs. So our cpus don't spaz out for such a small game
Yea i been tweakin everything to get it to run right i can still play but its slow and annoying tho. All good tho they will probably fix it, but i need a pc anyway so im thinking of hust playing how it is till they fix it or i get another pc. The game is actually fun to which make it more frustrating. And i can run gta all day i use to do a idle glitch in gta and my laptop would be fine. But honestly im thinking about buyin a p5
@PutemonhisbackIdk how your money is but new gaming pc is always the way to go, but if all your titles are on ps5 and you only have 400$, can't go wrong there. Some games for some reason like to opt better for consoles as well for example madden, even huge titles like elden ring sometimes do better on console even if the pc is better. If you have the money buy a 4070 ti, best bang for buck right now, Not sure what the best bang for buck is on next gen cpus. Prob a ryzen 7, If you have extra money get a 4070 ti with i9 k or the gpu right below it the ryzen 9. 4070 ti is a badass cpu for it's price why i recommend it even tho i plan to buy the 4090 or whatever is next. But i like spending money on pcs lol
Honestly the games i like playing are like madden fortnite and im trynna get that spider man So honestly im thinking about get a ps5 i been wanted on, but when madden released on pc i decided to get it on it. But if they optimize or if something happens where i can play it on my laptop ill be fine
@Putemonhisbackword, Yeah I used to be console player but since I went pc never going back lol, way more game and cooler stuff you can do. Also the community on PCs are less toxic. But I understand 400$ gaming console that is more mobile is easier to buy. I would say depends how much you spend your time gaming also and your wallet. I'm actually getting a ps5 one day just for the mobility... but i might just buy a over priced laptop instead idk lol
Yea i mean i play madden quite a bit but i mean thats really it and Fortnite, but is your pc messing up while on madden to?
