Madden 24 PC Crashing

Hi EA Support Team,

Madden 24 on PC (using EA Play) has been crashing consistently. I have not been able to play a full game (all 4 quarters) without the game crashing at some point mid-way through the game. I created a ticket and was requested to make a post to ensure the community managers follow-up on this issue with the technical teams. The game is essentially unplayable as I cannot play a full game without crashing. The most recent crash did cause a blue screen (BSOD). Looking at the dump file, it does point to the EA Anti-Cheat as a possible culprit. As additional information, I know FIFA 23 used EA Anti-Cheat and I never had any crashing issues.

A quick rundown of what has been done:

1. Reinstalled game

2. Reinstalled anti-cheat

3. Reinstalled graphics card drivers

4. Secure boot is enabled

5. Cleared cache on EA Play launcher

6. Game launched with clean boot

7. SFC/DISM repair tools run

8. All applicable windows 10 updates are installed

9. My system meets the minimum requirements of the game

Any response is greatly appreciated!

  • Quick update as I believe I have found some promising results thus far.

To ensure I did not have a hardware issue, I checked my CPU, GPU, and memory (including VRAM) for any stability issues (including stress tests) or corruption. Everything came back clean with no errors. Note: I am not overclocking anything.

I then attempted to run a Madden game and sure enough it crashed with a blue screen within 2 minutes of the first quarter. I looked at the dump file and the EA Anti-Cheat was suspect. After hours of troubleshooting and tinkering, I believe I may have found a solution to my crashing and possibly other EA Anti-Cheat issues (still need more testing but the results are promising!). Please note this may not working for everyone but I am sharing it since it has shown promising results for me.

    1. Go to the main install of EA Anti-Cheat. For me it was located here: C:\Program Files\EA\AC

    2. Run EA Anti-Cheat.Installer.exe Admin privileges are required

    3. Choose Madden 24 from the drop down menu and click uninstall

    4. Choose Madden 24 from the drop down menu (if necessary) and click install

    5. Once the installation is successful, if you press the update button (with Madden 24 selected from the drop down menu), it will say no update is required.

    6. Now navigate to your local Madden 24 directory and open the Anti-Cheat installer. For me it was located here: D:\Games\Origin Games\Madden NFL 24\__Installer\EAAntiCheat

    7. In this folder run EA Anti-Cheat.Installer.exe Admin privileges are required

    8. Select Madden 24 from the drop down and choose update. In my case there was an update found and once successful, you can close this window.

    9. Launch Madden and enjoy the game!

It was strange that the main EA Anti-Cheat installer did not find an update but the local installer in the Madden 24 installer did. I know FIFA 23 used this same EA Anti-Cheat and maybe that could have been the cause as I already had it installed. Nevertheless, I hope this gets some visibility if it proves helpful. @EA_Illium @EA_Barry

i’ve tried everything you tried and was hopeful for your last solution that showed results for you. unfortunately i still can’t make it out of the first quarter in madden 24 without it shutting down my computer. absolutely ridiculous. what’s interesting is that fifa 23 did the same thing to my pc last year except after a couple hours of playtime. this time it’s just a couple of minutes. EA is a total joke and i expect a full refund.

  • I turned off all the fancy graphics settings even though i have a 4090. Locked FPS in at 120 even my monitor goes up to 175hz. I also noticed its very choppy unless you turn off all that stuff. So in short, turn down the graphics and turn v-sync on, no ultra until they fix it. Game is smoother and crash free for now.

  • Dear EA Support Team,

I trust this message finds you well. I've encountered persistent crashes in Madden 24 PC (accessed through EA Play) that make the game unplayable. Despite multiple troubleshooting attempts, including reinstalls and driver updates, the crashes persist, pointing to EA Anti-Cheat as a potential culprit.

Given the severity of this issue, I urge immediate action and resolution. Players like myself deserve an enjoyable gaming experience. Furthermore, I propose a refund for affected users as a fair solution.

Your prompt attention to this matter is crucial. Please resolve this issue promptly to restore the gaming experience we paid for.

    Best regards,

  • I cant even get the game to load. The Screen pops up and then crashes even after install and after verifying files. I have a 4090 and I9 13000 windows 11 no reason why this doesnt load and playable!

I, too, am having this same problem. The game stays open in the task bar, but when I reopen it, it closes back down automatically.  I really hope they resolve this issue promptly.
