Also, I tried to get a refund from Sony, but they refuse to do anything until EA actually acknowledges the problem exists. No one is able to get their money back until EA admits that we bought malfunctioning games from your company. My preference is still to get my game fixed instead of a refund. But a refund NEEDS to be an option for all the people that wasted their money on a malfunctioning game that isn't performing as advertised.

To check which game mode(s) are you trying to play with your friend in? 

As mentioned in my previous post here, The EA Social window will only appear as an option for the Gen5 version (PS5 & Xbox Series X|S) with you on PS4 you will not have the option, and we will want to make sure your friend on the PS5 is using the Gen4 (PS4) version of the game. 

You will want to go into a specific mode, and you should see a list of available friends to send an invite to using the console's built-in invite system.

What if he has the PS5 version? Does he need to download an entirely new madden to play with me?

Hi @cooplion28 To confirm the PS4 and PS5 versions are not able to play with one another, he would need to download and play from the PS4 version.

Which platforms support cross-play?
Cross-play will be available for players only on PC, PlayStation®5 and Xbox Series X|S.

In order to play together on Gen4(PS4) you will both need to be on the same platform and game version (in this case the PS4 version). Please keep in mind if your friend plays MUT, the team and progress he has on the PS5 version will not transfer to the PS4 version.

How does your answer solve us not having the Friend Portal on the actual game? Cross play is one thing but not having an entire function of the game itself is another. Please stop just typing responses and actually dissect the issue. Us continue to provide videos and explain the same thing isn’t the solution to the problem. 

I have a series x and I downloaded series x madden 24 and I have no friends ports at the bottom of my screen. No option to invite cross plat formed players. 

I am having the same issue as well. 

I got no online portal in the Bottom right corner either

To confirm which device are you playing on? (PS4 or PS5, Xbox one or Xbox X|S) and which version of Madden 24 should you have installed?

The R3 social window will not come up if you on on a last gen console (PS4 or Xbox one) nor will it be available if you are playing the PS4/Xbox one version on a PS5/Xbox X|S.

I am playing on a PS4 that is up-to-date. I am also logged into EA Sports. I am able to play online however, have no social aspect. No option for pressing R3. Meaning, I cannot play with friends online. That is the only reason I purchased the game. I purchased the ps4 version of madden 2024. At no point did this state cross play was not offered at purchase. In fact it said this was offered. I want a refund if you refuse to add that feature. I have called PlayStation and they will not refund unless you state this is a fact and an issue. Please read this forum. Many people are having the same issue and this is not fair to us.

Still not changes. This is insane. I can’t get a refund. This was never disclosed that I couldn’t play with friends online. Please make this right

For Gen 4 platforms (PS4, Xbox One) game invites are handled through the console social menus, not through the game itself. For more info on how you can add friends on PS4 and Xbox One check out the links below:

Once you have someone on your PlayStation or Xbox friends list, you should be able to invite them to play Madden 24 from their profile. 

My brother is having the same issue it won’t pop up with the friends portal on madden 24 on ps5 he’s pushing r3 and is connected to madden servers. We tried linking and unlinking his account
