Re: Image Failed Validation

@EA_Kent I'm using a Windows PC, Google Chrome. During the week, image uploads worked just fine for me. However, starting Saturday morning the validation issue arose. I was not doing anything different from before. I tried logging in on an incognito tab, no change. I cleared my cache, no change. I restarted my computer and then did all those things again, no change. I've tried during off-peak hours now, no change. I used every troubleshooting method I could think of prior to posting in this forum. Hopefully that info helps the tech team figure things out.

At first I was worried that team builder had been deliberately shut off due to abuse or something, but based on what I've heard so far, that doesn't seem to be the case. Something I also noticed is that a team doesn't need to have any custom logos whatsoever for it to get rejected at submission. So, something appears to specifically be broken with content moderation, causing it to reject anything and everything regardless of content.

    I E-Mailed EA on Saturday 8/24 and the representative told me the team is aware of the issue and is working on it and they would appreciate my co-operation. FINE. I again got in touch with EA on Sunday 8/25 and the representative thanked me for informing EA of the Team Builder website failed image issue. I then told the representative that I was not informing EA of the issue as I and 100s of people already had done that, what I am requesting is an update on the issue. The representative took 10 minutes to respond and then informed me he had let the "Team" know about the issue and they would get back to me within 24hrs. Well it's now 8/26 and 30hrs later and no response from EA so that is where it stands for me. I bought this game on 8/19 and have not been able to create 1 single team since purchase. I can't believe this can even be legal for a company to advertise a feature that actually does not work. If Madden 25 were a car it would be recalled. Tomorow I am calling the Better Business Bureau and I suggest anyone reading this do the same so this gets publicized and hopefully results in bad press and the NFL decides not to renew EAs NFL exclusive license.

    That will likely never happen due to the circumstances that follows why:

    • People who have no clue what the problem is with it, will continue to ignore it and blame us as the bad guys for destroying it when we are trying to fix it.
    • People spend so much dang money on this game that EA doesn't bother with it.
    • If EA can do the something year after year and get away with it, the can do it again.
    • Similar to my 2nd bullet point, NFL makes huge profit off of EA for the Madden games, NFL is also not the hero in this either.

    Class action lawsuits might be practically futile against them because of how much wealth they can just build right back up and will only be a tickle to them, and they still might not learn anything from it, it's the same thing time and time again.

    @Blackopsiislayer There is one possibility.

    Lawsuit wins out, NFL stops associating with EA, the other sports follow suit, without their sports backing EA is forced into bankruptcy closing their doors.

    I think that'll learn them
  • Agreed it's time to go public. This incompetence cannot just continue. I've already given up on EA soccer just like FIFA. Going to the NFL site next to ask them to end the partnership. 2K does a much better job.

    Publicity. That is the one thing the NFL cares about. Make no mistake, the NFL does not need EA, EA desperately needs the NFL. I could make an argument that the NFL could have just set a price for their license and at least 4 companies would pay it. The NFL could actually make more money. EA originally paid 300 million for the exclusive NFL deal in 2005. It was reported they offered the highest bid out of the 4 publishing companies vying for the license. I can't find my source but I remember hearing Sony offered 250+million. So the NFL exclusive license never did make business sense and it still doesn't. Instead of charging both companies 250 million and getting 500 million the NFL decides to give it to one company for 300 million. The fix was in way back in 2005. Somebody owed somebody a favor. The same people are no longer at EA in 2024. A class action lawsuit against the publisher who has the sole exclusive NFL license for false advertising (team builder) would embarrass the NFL. That is the one thing the NFL will not tolerate. They always "try" to make it seem like they care about their fans. If there are any lawyers out there and we can get a fire going with thousands of signatures that would make a huge difference. Sure EA could pay any class action fine but that is not the point. The lawsuit does not even have to succeed. If it gets Goodell and the Owners attention and they think "Guys, EA is making our brand look bad. We can make even more money if we just put the license out there and everybody can pay us without this bad PR and our fans will love it." If EA had competition Team Builder would have been fixed day one. This is the only way.
