Hey EA,
love your game and I play it every year.
That being said I think there is a lot that can be done to improve the game. Specifically with gameplay presentation and immersion.
I think focusing on immersion that does not take time away from gameplay is what should be focused on. Some people love the pregame presentation for offline games, some hate it. Vice versa. But everybody would love what I write below…
For example, adding QB cadences that are specific to players like Dak Prescott was a great idea. It does not take time away from the game at all, but you really feel like you are playing with Dak.
After you play 10 games in a row the game feels very stale in a way, not that the gameplay is not fun, but I do not feel like the environments aren’t any different, and the game is not alive.
Ideas that would fix this, that would not take away from gameplay, and I assume would not be too hard to add:
- Reporters, security, and cameramen moving along the sidelines and in the endzone. It just feels like they are just there to be there, and adding movement in the background would add a lot to the game. Also have them move out of the way when players come near them. Similar to how defensive pre-snap movement this year was so noticeable. Small change, but a great add
-Adding more security, reporters, cameramen for bigger games
- Revamp the weather, there is only one type of snow for example. In old madden games, there used to be light, medium, and heavy snow. Made the game feel much more dynamic. also have the grass change with the weather in cold stadiums. If you take a look at Arrowhead on a 60 degree day vs a 10 degree day the grass looks more dead. Details like this would be great.
- Make the scoreboards more dynamic. For example, you have bear down Chicago bears in the game when the bears score. But it’s not too noticeable. However, if you made it a little louder, and had the lyrics on the scoreboard while the song was going on it would be tough to miss. Just like a real bears game. Also de-fence chants and such less by the scoreboard would be great.
- Fans more dynamic. This has been improved, but they often react too late. Are not too noticeable and never move from their seats. They do sound a little better, but I would love to hear them react in negative ways too. If I take a sack at home or over throw an open reciever there is always an “ooo” sound that is taken the air out of the stadium almost. Also I know you guys put waving towels in the game, and you need to make those pop more. Take some credit.
These are just a few ideas for immersion that doesn’t take away anything from the game. I think those are easy ways to make all fans happy, and don’t focus on adding any new huge features or changes to the game. I would love to hear your feedback!
